The Royal Tank Regiment (RTR) is one of the oldest tank regiments in the British Army, established in 1916 during World War I. It was the first regiment to be specifically formed for the use of tanks in battle, marking a significant evolution in modern warfare. In addition to combat operations, the RTR has ceremonial roles, including participation in events such as Trooping the Colour. The regiment also has a strong sense of tradition, with a rich history and distinctive insignia that reflect its long-standing heritage in the British Army.
